IPIP-50 is fifty public-domain IPIP items covering the five Big Five domains. Ten items per domain. That length is enough for domain scores. It is shorter than IPIP-NEO-120 and IPIP-NEO-300, which can score facets. It is not a 120-item or 300-item facet clone.

What IPIP-50 is
IPIP is the International Personality Item Pool: public-domain personality items that researchers and teachers can use without licensing a commercial inventory. Lewis Goldberg and colleagues published the pool so labs, classrooms, and applications could measure the same five-factor space. The reference site is ipip.ori.org. We use IPIP-50 items. We are not ori.org.
IPIP-50 is one form from that pool:

- Five domain scores: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Neuroticism

Saying “an IPIP test” is like saying “a public-domain questionnaire.” The form matters. IPIP-50 is the fifty-item domain-score form. It is not IPIP-NEO-120. It is not IPIP-NEO-300. It is not BFI-2. It is not Mini-IPIP. It is not the Open Psychometrics IPIP-BFFM.

What we run, in order:

- If two people finish, an optional partner comparison puts the two profiles side by side. The couples framing is the personality test for couples. It is not a compatibility type and not a match percentage.
That is the honest length. The full Big Five measure here is fifty items. It is not a 120-item or 300-item facet clone. We do not publish a minute count for those fifty items.
