The Big Five is a five-dimension model of personality. The letters OCEAN name the five traits: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism.
It does not sort you into a type. Each trait is a spectrum. You have a position on all five.
This page explains the model. The scored path on this site is the Big Five test: a free quiz first (ten IPIP items — a teaser), then the full IPIP-50.
The five traits

| Conscientiousness | Structure, follow-through, and planfulness vs. flexibility |
| Extraversion | Social energy and stimulation vs. restorative quiet |
| Agreeableness | Cooperation and warmth vs. skepticism and directness |
| Neuroticism | Emotional reactivity and stress sensitivity vs. evenness |
None of these is a moral score. High is not better. Low is not a flaw. The useful question is whether your life matches the trait.

Spectrum scores, not 16 types
Type systems assign a label. The Big Five reports a position on five continuous dimensions. Most people sit in the middle of at least one scale. A percentile can move a little without renaming you. A type hides that.
